1. PVCOM (Multifunctional photovoltaic devices based on transparent composite and cigs for integration)

PVCOM (MULTIFUNCTIONAL PHOTOVOLTAIC DEVICES BASED ON TRANSPARENT COMPOSITE AND CIGS FOR INTEGRATION)

Programme: Eurostars. European Commision

Abstract: This project aims to develop new photovoltaic technologies and materials and to demonstrate its application as a multifunctional material complying with the specific needs and requirements of the Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) and Smart Cities markets. This approach will be done for BIPV, urban furniture and urban mobility applications through the combination of CIGS technology and transparent fiber reinforced composite material as innovative module manufacturing technology.

2. EVERCLEAN (A durable self-clean coating for solar panels to improve PV energy generation efficiency)

EVERCLEAN (A DURABLE SELF-CLEAN COATING FOR SOLAR PANELS TO
IMPROVE PV ENERGY GENERATION EFFICIENCY)

Programme: Horizon 2020. European Commision

Abstract: The objective of this project is to bring to market a new product, EverClean, which will provide, for the first time, a transparent, durable, cost-effective and permanent self-cleaning solution for solar panels. Target markets are utility scale solar and the rapidly growing Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) markets. The objectives of this Fast Track to Innovation Action are to commercialise the EverClean coating and new self-cleaning BIPV modules from the current TRL6 prototype to operational demonstration (TRL9) in BIPV, certification, commercialisation and supply chain measures to deliver rapid growth.

3. PVSITES (Building-integrated photovoltaic technologies and systems for large-scale market deployment)

HERB (Holistic Energy-Efficient Retrofitting of Residential Buidlings)

Programme: H2020. European Commision

Abstract: The objective of the project is to drive BIPV technology to a large market deployment by demonstrating an ambitious portfolio of building-integrated solar technologies and systems, giving a forceful, reliable answer to the market requirements identified as flexibility in design and aesthetic considerations, lack of tools integrating PV and building performance, demonstration of long-term reliability of the technology, compliance legal regulations, smart interaction with grid and cost effectiveness.

4. ADVANCED BIPV (New Generation of BIPV glass with advanced integration properties)



Programme: HORIZON 2020 - SME Instrument Phase 2. European Commission.

Abstract: The main objective of this project is to increase the competitiveness of Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) technology by means of developing new generation of PV glazing satisfying the well-defined market demanded architectural trends. Onyx Solar will face this main goal by developing a new family of products referred as (a) Novel XL-BIPV Glazing Units, (b) High- Mechanical Resistance PV units and (c) High Performing Vision Glazing. Onyx Solar is executing this project in the role of Coordinator as a single partner.

5. HERB (Holistic Energy-Efficient Retrofitting of Residential Buildings)



Programme: 7 Framework Programme. European Commission.

Abstract: The HERB Project goal is to implement active and passive energy efficient properties in residential buildings already existing and located in several countries around Europe. Onyx Solar will participate as a partner in a consortium managed by University of Nottingham developing BIPV solar solutions focused on retrofitting buildings.

6. R2CITIES (Renovation of residential urban spaces: towards nearly zero energy cities)



Programme: 7 Framework Programme. European Commission.

Abstract: The European Project R2CITIES aims to develop and demonstrate an open and easily replicable strategy for designing, constructing, and managing large scale district renovation projects for achieving nearly zero energy cities.

The initiative is supported by a total of fifteen European partners distributed by Spain, Italy, Turkey, United Kingdom, Germany and Belgium. The three residential districts in which the developed technologies will be shown are located in Spain (Valladolid), Italy (Genoa) and Turkey (Kartal-Istambul).

7. REELCOOP (Research Cooperation in Renewable Energy Technologies for Electricity Generation)



Programme: 7 Framework Programme. European Commission.

Abstract: REELCOOP project stands for REnewable ELectricity COOPeration, and will address 5 areas: photovoltaics (PV), concentrated solar power (CSP), solar thermal (ST), bioenergy and grid integration with the aim to demonstrate three innovative prototypes based on the aforementioned technologies in countries of the MENA region (Middle East & North Africa).

The consortium, which is made up of 15 partners from different countries, is led by the University of Porto.

8. ARTESUN (Efficient, large-area arbitrary shape solar energy)

The AutoNomous Office - Onyx Solar

Programme: 7 Framework Programme. European Commission.

Abstract: The ArtESun project combines the multidisciplinary and complementary competences of top-level European research groups and industries in order to make significant steps towards high-efficiency (>15%), stable and cost efficient Organic Photovoltaic Technology (OPV) to its expected future applications in Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Antenna.

9. Model for a Green Energy Autonomous Office Building

The AutoNomous Office - Onyx Solar

Programme: LIFE 2011. European Commission. Environment.

Abstract: The main objective of the project is to develop a new hybrid solution with highly energy-efficiency properties for integration into sustainable buildings. This constructive solution will have active, passive and reactive properties used as glazing that simultaneously generates photovoltaic electricity, thermal energy and at the same time filtering harmful sun radiation while allowing the passage of natural light.

10. EUROPHIT (Improving the energy performance of step-by-step refurbishment and integration of renewable energies)

Europhit

Programme: CIP Programme. Intelligent Energy Europe.

Abstract: The aim of the EuroPHit project is to significantly increase the quality and energy efficiency of step-by-step refurbishment of buildings throughout the EU by developing comprehensive and integrated methodology and implementing uniform quality assurance from the design to the construction phase. In this respect, the EnerPhit standard will be generated through the Passive House Institute, facilitating the integration of BIPV technology in potential Passive House projects.

12. Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells in solid State: nanostructured layers forerunners of photovoltaic paint for sustainable building

Programme: R&D Projects. “Agencia de Innovación, Financiación e Internacionalización empresarial”, Junta de Castilla y León.

Abstract: The research on new materials and techniques into a nanometric scale, has led to the development of third-generation PV technologies whose properties are especially interesting in the market BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics). Among these, particularly noticeable is the technology of the Dye Sensitized Solar Cells Solid State.

R&D Department at ONYX SOLAR and Department of Condensed Matter Physics at University of Valladolid are collaborating with the main aim of develop a photovoltaic paint focused on building application.

13. INNDISOL (Innovation in architectural solar integration and photovoltaic devices)

Programme: INNPACTO 2010. Spanish Ministry of Economy & Competitiveness.

Abstract: The project objective is to improve the competitiveness of the Spanish photovoltaic industry in manufacturing value-added products such as more efficient photovoltaic modules with special features for architectural integration.

The consortium is composed by two companies (Onyx Solar and Mondragon Assembly), three universities (University of Cataluña, University of Barcelona and Laser Center of the Polytechnic University of Madrid) and a technology center internationally renowned (CIEMAT).
