We are integrating 1,794 crystalline silicon photovoltaic louvers into the active façade of Atlassian Central, set to become the world’s tallest hybrid timber and steel skyscraper. With a 4+4 mm configuration, these louvers are part of a self-shading system that reduces direct heat gain, enhances energy efficiency, and significantly lowers the building’s carbon footprint.
Located at 8–10 Lee Street, the building will offer 75,000 m² of gross floor area, retail spaces, 137 YHA rooms, and new public areas around Sydney’s Central Station.
Led by Dexus, Atlassian, and Built, the project will be entirely fossil fuel-free and powered by renewable energy. It targets a 5.5-star NABERS Energy Commitment Agreement and a 6-star Green Star rating. The structure will feature mass timber construction (MTC) and a power-generating façade to further reduce embodied carbon.
