BIDWELLS HOUSE · CAMBRIDGE, ENGLAND
Bidwells, the leading real estate consultancy in the UK, has selected Onyx Solar's innovative photovoltaic glass for the renovation of its headquarters in Cambridge. This state-of-the-art installation integrates an amorphous silicon photovoltaic curtain wall with 30% transparency, allowing natural light to filter through while generating clean energy. Each glass panel measures 967x2,683 mm and features an argon-filled chamber for enhanced insulation and energy efficiency.
By incorporating Onyx Solar’s photovoltaic technology, Bidwells House is now capable of producing renewable energy directly from sunlight, reinforcing its position as one of the most forward-thinking buildings in the real estate sector. The installation of this photovoltaic curtain wall aligns with Bidwells’ commitment to sustainability, making the headquarters a model of eco-friendly innovation.
The major refurbishment of Bidwells’ Cambridge office is designed to meet the growing needs of its expanding team. Spanning three floors, the new office features a 100-seat café and a large marketing suite on the ground floor, with two floors of open-plan office space offering flexible working environments for all employees. This renovation not only modernizes the building but also reduces its environmental footprint through the use of renewable energy solutions.
With a 177-year history in the heart of Cambridge, Bidwells continues to lead by example, and the integration of Onyx Solar’s photovoltaic glass ensures the headquarters remains a landmark of sustainability for many years to come.
