CircThread aims to revolutionize product data management for improved Circular Economy (CE) decisions throughout the product lifecycle. By capturing and sharing comprehensive data, CircThread establishes a collaborative information framework that ensures a circular product chain of custody.

Key Features:

• Product Information: Includes status, materials, resources, critical raw materials, lifespan, environmental impact, social factors, and end-of-use options.
• Circularity Strategies: Connects to maintenance, lifespan extension, refurbishment, repair, re-use, re-manufacturing, and recycling.

Objectives:

• Develop a digital thread across the product lifecycle with accessible information.
• Provide integrated life cycle sustainability and circularity assessment methodologies.
• Support sustainability and circularity standards in Europe.
• Empower companies, consumers, and consumer organizations.
• Evaluate product re-use and recycling for policy monitoring.

Actions:

• Test 7 use cases: product tracking, manufacturing, spare parts recovery, end-of-use, lifespan extension, critical raw materials, and consumer behavior.
• Address economic, environmental, circularity, and social aspects.
• Conduct 3 demonstrations in the home appliance and home energy systems sectors.
