The city of Girne, capital of the district of Kyrenia, has decided to fight against climate change by incorporating our innovative technology and looking for a model of sustainable development for our cities.
Firstly, we have manufacture our Amorphous Silicon Technology to create this Photovoltaic Curtain Wall , which has a surface area above 300 m2 (3,230 sqft). Those glass modules has low transparency and dimensions of 1,245x2,456 mm, 1,245x1,849mm and 1,245x1,242mm.
Our energy-generating glass has a configuration of 6+3,2+6/12air/4+4mm. The installation has an air chamber that contributes to perfect exterior insulation of the building, improving the internal comfort of its users.
Secondly, we have provided our Amorphous Silicon Technology to build this Photovoltaic Ventilated Façade in shape of Shell, which has a surface area above 278 m2 (2,992 sqft). Those glass modules has low transparency and dimensions of 1,200x600 mm and 600x600.
Our architectural glass panes will filter out 99% of the ultraviolet radiation (UV) which may have a harmful effect. It reduces the transmition of infrared radiation by up to 90% compared with a conventional laminated glass. This is important in Girne, a city that exceeds 33ºC on average in the summer months.
To sum up, the 578 m2 (6,220 SqFt) will generate more than 450 MWh of energy, feed 9,000 points of light every day, and prevent the emission of more than 300 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
