GOVERNMENT BUILDING
PHOTOVOLTAIC CURTAIN WALL
This curtain wall, installed in Malta, is made of low-e amorphous silicon photovoltaic glass modules with a degree of semitransparency of 20% (L vision), enabling the passage of light into the interior and also the enjoyment of the views.
This type of glass filters out 99% of the ultraviolet radiation and up to 95% of infrared radiation. It's Solar (g) Factor is between 5% and 40%, depending on the degree of semi-transparency, this being perfect for the prevention of the greenhouse effect within the buildings.

Data:
- Total Area - 79 M2
- Electricity generated in 35 years - 67,135 kWh
- Total lighting points operating 4 hours per day in 35 years - 132 lighting points
- CO2 emmisions avoided in 35 years - 45 Tons of CO2
- Barrels of oil saved in 35 years - 40 barrels per m2
In this case, the glass also comprises an air gap to provide greater thermal insulation for the building.
The installation generates 3 kWp and is comprised of 124 differently-sized and shaped glass modules which were made to measure for this project.
