LA TROBE UNIVERSITY · MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

RENOVATION

La Trobe University, established over 40 years ago, is a leading institution with multiple campuses, more than 5,000 faculty members, 30,000 students, and five academic faculties. As part of its strong commitment to environmental sustainability, La Trobe University partnered with Onyx Solar to integrate innovative photovoltaic solutions into its campus infrastructure.

Onyx Solar installed a custom-designed photovoltaic pergola on the university grounds, providing both shade and renewable energy. The pergola features monocrystalline silicon glass panels, tailored to meet the specific architectural and energy needs of the university. This installation generates a total of 14,392 kWh of clean energy annually, significantly reducing the campus’s reliance on traditional energy sources while preventing the emission of nearly 10 tons of CO2 each year.

EXPLORE THE INNOVATIVE FEATURES OF THIS SUSTAINABLE ENERGY PROJECT

This project highlights the university's dedication to implementing sustainable technologies that support its environmental goals. The photovoltaic pergola not only contributes to energy savings but also serves as a key element in promoting the use of renewable energy on campus. By choosing photovoltaic glass, the university enhances its sustainability credentials while offering practical energy generation in a structure that blends with the overall design of the campus. The success of this project demonstrates how academic institutions can lead the way in the fight against climate change by integrating innovative, eco-friendly technologies into their infrastructure.
