PEPPER SAVINGS BANK · SEONGNAM, KOREA
RENOVATION
This project, led by Pepper Saving Bank, involved the replacement of existing inactive glass with Onyx Solar’s PV glass, transforming the building into a source of free and clean energy, thereby significantly reducing electricity expenses. Each glass module is equipped with 60 mono-crystalline solar cells. The layout was customized to achieve the desired nominal power, visible light transmittance and solar heat gain coefficient desired by the customer to enhance the building’s energy efficiency.
The photovoltaic glass chosen for this project is an ideal solution for Pepper Savings Bank, as it perfectly balances energy generation with transparency and heat control. With the ability to reach a nominal power of 100 Wp per square meter, the glass delivers impressive energy output, contributing to the building’s sustainability goals and reducing reliance on external electricity sources. The 30% visible light transmission ensures that a significant amount of natural light enters the building, improving the indoor ambiance for employees and visitors while reducing the need for artificial lighting. Additionally, the 23% G-value aids in minimizing solar heat gain, optimizing the thermal comfort inside the bank without excessive cooling costs. By integrating photovoltaic technology into the façade, this project not only enhances the energy efficiency of the building but also elevates its modern, eco-friendly appearance, showcasing Pepper Savings Bank’s commitment to innovative, sustainable solutions in its operations.
