PHOTOVOLTAIC ventilated façade & photovoltaic canopy

 

Photovoltaic glazing supplied by Onyx Solar was used in the new distribution and logistics center of PepsiCo, which features two diferent constructive solutions: a photovoltaic ventilated facade and a photovoltaic canopies. The facility is located in the city of Puebla, in Mexico.

The PV glass is installed on the two main façades of the building as well as in two canopies: one is attached to the façade of the building, and the other is installed in the 'recreation' area nearby.

The whole project has 670 m2 (7,211 sqft) of monocrystalline silicon PV glasses, and most of the units measure 2,000x1,100 mm. There is a 4T+4T glass configuration in all of them, and they contain bluish colored rear ceramic frit that adheres perfectly to PepsiCo's aesthetic requirements.

The facility is located in one of the new distribution and logistics centers that the company recently inaugurated and is located in Puebla. This represents PepsiCo's first logistics center in Latin America that has the highest certifications in sustainability (LEED Silver Certification), accessibility (Distinctive A), and health and well-being (two-star Fitwel).
