SOLAR UMBRELLA · PARIS RIS GROVE, SINGAPORE
PHOTOVOLTAIC FURNITURE · AMORPHOUS SILICON TECHNOLOGY
Onyx Solar has supplied cutting-edge photovoltaic glass for the creation of photovoltaic solar umbrellas at Coco Palms Condo, an exclusive residential development located in Pasir Ris Grove, Singapore. These innovative solar-powered structures seamlessly integrate sustainable technology with modern design, enhancing the outdoor experience for residents while providing clean, renewable energy.
The installation features 13 dark amorphous silicon photovoltaic glass modules, elegantly incorporated into the palm tree-shaped structures that make up the iconic solar umbrellas. These panels generate free, clean electricity to power the LED bollard outdoor lighting, adding both functional and aesthetic value to the Sun Play Garden, a common area within the development.
- 6 larger photovoltaic glass units (1,245x1,242 mm) on wide sculptures
- 7 smaller photovoltaic glass units (600x600 mm) on narrow sculptures
Coco Palms Condo, known for its blend of modern architecture and natural landscapes, is a model of sustainable urban living. The 12 residential blocks are designed with clean lines and pure geometric forms, surrounded by expansive green spaces and distinctive garden areas. The addition of solar-powered umbrellas further enhances the development’s commitment to sustainability, providing residents with eco-friendly lighting solutions that seamlessly blend into the natural environment.
This project is a testament to Onyx Solar’s expertise in integrating photovoltaic technology into everyday structures. By combining innovation with functionality, these solar umbrellas demonstrate the potential of renewable energy in residential settings, offering a glimpse into the future of sustainable urban design.
