RECONAL HEADQUARTERS · KRAKOW, POLAND
Onyx Solar’s photovoltaic skylight at the Reconal company headquarters in Krakow, Poland, continues to serve as a prime example of sustainable architecture. Reconal, a leader in construction management, took a significant step toward sustainability by integrating crystalline silicon photovoltaic glass into its building design.
This skylight features a combination of mono and polycrystalline cells, providing a maximum power output of 2.52 kWp. By blending photovoltaic glass with conventional colored glass, the skylight delivers a sleek, modern aesthetic while enhancing the building’s energy efficiency. The energy generated by the skylight is sufficient to power 133 light points within the building, reducing its reliance on external energy sources. Additionally, this sustainable solution has prevented the emission of 45 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, contributing to a cleaner environment.
The choice of photovoltaic glass for Reconal’s headquarters aligns perfectly with the company’s commitment to integrating sustainable solutions into its core operations. The photovoltaic skylight not only contributes to lowering energy consumption but also maximizes natural light, creating a bright and pleasant workspace for employees while simultaneously reducing the need for artificial lighting. Its thermal insulation properties help stabilize indoor temperatures, lessening the load on the building's HVAC systems, which is particularly valuable in Krakow’s climate, where temperatures can fluctuate significantly.
