PHOTOVOLTAIC SPANDREL CELLIA MOCK-UP
PHOTOVOLTAIC SPANDREL CELLIA MOCK-UP
Onyx Solar has provided Photovoltaic Glass to create a Photovoltaic Spandrel for Cellia mock-up, an innovative prefabricated façade module to conceive and developed for the collaboration between CMR Progetto and Focchi Group. It is located in Poggio Torriana, Italy.
Data:
- Total Area - 9 M2
- Electricity generated in 35 years - 13.218 kWh
- Total lighting points operating 4 hours per day in 35 years - 26 lighting points
- CO2 emmisions avoided in 35 years - 4 Tons of CO2
- Barrels of oil saved in 35 years - 8 barrels per m2
The prototype consists of two solutions of spandrel on the façade or curtain wall. The first solution is vertical fins of medium transparency Amorphous Silicon Photovoltaic Glass modules which measures 500x3.300 mm with a PV glass configuration of 6T+3.2+6T. The second solution is a horizontal sunshade of Monocrystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Glass modules which measures 592x1.474 mm with a PV glass configuration of 8T+8T. Those glass modules has been supplied in close collaboration with R2M Solution, Onyx Solar’s exclusive official distributor in Italy & France.
The innovation of Cellia (Cellula InterAttiva) was born from the collaboration of companies with complementary skills: the Focchi Group is entitled to production of the envelope that changes the "skin" of the building, making it more performing and it involves aspects such as the choice of materials, the integration of technology (IoT, sensors and systems), up to the prefabrication of the product in the factory, in order to reduce construction times and, at the same time guarantee greater quality control.
The other plus that "makes the difference" is the high content of technological innovation: Cellia integrates the air conditioning system and ventilation into a single module, to which you can add wiring and power generation through customizable photovoltaic glass modules; a fixed shading system with horizontal or vertical PV brise-soleil, motorized blinds and LED lighting both internal and external.
Cellia has the idea of developing a super technological façade and energy-efficient, integrating the most important ones building components.
“The idea of developing a super technological facade and energy-efficient, integrating the most important building components, came to us many years ago. The demand for high-performance and efficient buildings in Italy is always increasing, but Real Estate offer has a strong lack in this sense: Cellia wants to be the tool for filling this gap, ensuring maximum flexibility in design and construction, as well as absolute customization”
