POCITYF

A Positive Energy CITY Transformation Framework

Programme: H2020. European Commision

POCITYF is a visionary smart city project focused on creating Positive Energy Blocks—areas where local renewable energy generation exceeds consumption. This initiative is being implemented in Evora (PT) and Alkmaar (NL), with support from Granada (ES), Bari (IT), Celje (SI), Ujpest (HU), Ioannina (GR), and Hvidovre (DK).

Goal:
Transform urban areas, especially cultural and historical sites, into cheaper, healthier, and more reliable spaces for citizens.

Approach: POCITYF will deploy 10 integrated solutions featuring 73 innovative elements supported by City Information Platforms across 4 Energy Transition Tracks (ETTs):

  1. Energy-Positive Buildings: Convert buildings into energy-positive structures.
  2. Grid Flexibility: Implement strategies and storage systems to optimize energy flows.
  3. e-Mobility Integration: Decarbonize mobility and reduce inner-city traffic.
  4. Citizen Engagement: Offer services for citizen engagement and co-creation with stakeholders.

Impact:
Enhance city infrastructures, making them safer, greener, and more responsive to citizens' needs.

ONYX SOLAR's Role:
Contribute PV canopies and PV-skylights to Evora’s demo areas, enhancing POCITYF's technology repository.

Project Status: Ongoing.
