The installation is composed of 12 units of Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Glass. Each module measures 1,700x1,000 mm and has a glass configuration of 4T + 4T mm. The glasses are perfectly integrated into the metal structure forming a solar tree, the first of its kind in Palestine.

The An-Najah National University is one of the most important universities in Palestine. It has 11 faculties where more than 23,000 students get their degrees, who can also relax under the shadow of our iconic solar tree canopy.

The tree, which is 3.5 meters high, consists of 3 branches, each connected to a solar panel. The solar tree generates electricity which enables charging 100 electrical devices, including computers, mobile phones, wheelchairs, and lighting 20 LED lamps, with the possibility of controlling the time periods of their lighting during the night.

Thanks to this project, as well as others, the An-Najah University will be able to reduce its CO2 emissions by 550 tons annually and avoid the use of diesel fuel during the long hours of power cuts to provide better services to students and staff. It will also be an excellent way for the university to raise awareness among their students on the importance of renewable energy integration and to stimulate creativity, leadership and cooperation.
