SURYA ENERGY INDOTAMA OFFICE · BANDUNG CITY, INDONESIA
Onyx Solar has delivered its innovative photovoltaic glass for a new building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) project at the headquarters of PT Surya Energi Indotama in Bandung City, West Java, Indonesia. This cutting-edge installation not only enhances the building's aesthetic appeal but also reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability.
The photovoltaic curtain wall, installed on the main façade of the building, integrates 18 amorphous silicon photovoltaic glass modules with medium transparency. The design includes three different module sizes to suit the architectural needs: six units measuring 2,000x1,000 mm, six green-colored units measuring 1,600x1,150 mm, and six units measuring 1,600x2,400 mm. Each of these modules follows a durable 6+3+6 laminated glass configuration, ensuring both energy efficiency and structural safety.
It can reach a nominal power of 31 Wp per square meter, this photovoltaic curtain wall is designed to meet the building’s energy needs while also allowing natural light to filter through, creating a bright and comfortable working environment. The glass panels exceed a visible light transmission and g-value of 15%, providing a balance between light penetration and solar energy generation, perfectly tailored to the tropical climate of Indonesia.
This installation marks Onyx Solar’s second project in Indonesia, following the successful deployment of its energy-generating glass at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta. The project at PT Surya Energi Indotama further demonstrates the growing adoption of renewable energy solutions in Southeast Asia and highlights the company's commitment to integrating cutting-edge photovoltaic technology into contemporary architecture.
