SYNOVO PHARMA · TÜBINGEN, GERMANY
Onyx Solar provided crystalline silicon photovoltaic glass for the state-of-the-art canopy at the newly built Synovo Pharma facility in Tübingen, Germany. The installation, completed in 2021, covers an area of 148 square meters and consists of 57 monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic glass units, customized to perfectly fit the existing metal structure. The glass panels, available in eight different dimensions, demonstrate the adaptability of Onyx Solar, with the largest panels reaching 4 meters in length, highlighting our capacity to manufacture the longest photovoltaic glass in the market.
This photovoltaic canopy offers both functional and aesthetic benefits. It provides essential shade and shelter for the building while generating clean, renewable energy that will significantly reduce energy costs. The installation blends seamlessly with the building’s design, creating an elegant integration of solar technology.
The photovoltaic glass used for this project is particularly well-suited for Synovo Pharma’s facility due to its high efficiency and ability to meet specific energy requirements. With the ability of reaching a nominal power of 157 Wp per square meter and a VLT and g-value of 25%, it ensures optimal energy production while controlling solar heat gain. This balance between energy generation and thermal insulation not only enhances the building’s sustainability but also contributes to the comfort of the occupants. By integrating this advanced photovoltaic glass, the facility maximizes its renewable energy potential without compromising on the aesthetic appeal of the building’s design, making it a prime example of functional, eco-conscious architecture.
