Water Treatment Plant canopy featuring Crystalline SIlicon Photovoltaic Technology Glass by Onyx Solar

WATER TREATMENT PLANT · PANAMA CITY, PANAMA

NEW CONSTRUCTION

Onyx Solar supplied crystalline silicon photovoltaic glass for the roof canopy of the new Interactive Center for Environmental Education (CEIA), located within the residual water treatment plant in the Juan Diaz area of Panama City.

This installation consists of 90 photovoltaic glass units, featuring both active and inactive sections. Each module is custom-made with a 4T + 4T mm glass configuration and includes an acid-etched treatment on the rear glass for optimal performance. The canopy not only provides shelter but also generates clean, renewable energy, making the structure energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable.

The CEIA is designed to raise environmental awareness among students, communities, and visitors, serving as a hub for knowledge and research on water, sanitation, and environmental conservation in Panama and the region. With three interactive rooms, a lobby, and an auditorium that accommodates up to 150 people, the center is equipped to host a variety of educational and training activities. Additionally, an ecological trail allows visitors to explore the surrounding natural environment.
