McLaren successfully delivered this development located in Chancery Lane for DAR Consultancy Group, now called Sidara. The new development unite over 1,000 members of staff in a single state-of-the-art workplace. Sidara is home to seventeen leading specialist firms in the built environment, including Dar, Perkins&Will, Currie & Brown, TYLin, and Penspen. Its companies have worked on some of the most iconic and challenging projects where the natural environment and humanity co-exist. Their office in London placed sustainability at the core of the design, designed to be energy efficient and adaptable to climate change with increased resilience from features such as the Onyx Solar's photovoltaic glass installed in the atrium. Crafted with amorphous silicon solar technology, the photovoltaic glass produce clean on-site power and serves as a natural light source while filtering ultraviolet and infrared radiation.

The photovoltaic glass installed in Chancery Lane is an optimal choice for this building, as it meets both the energy generation and design requirements laid out by Sidara’s sustainability goals. With the ability to reach a nominal power of 40 Wp per square meter, this photovoltaic glass not only generates clean energy but also reduces the building’s overall carbon footprint. Its ability to filter UV and infrared radiation ensures a more comfortable indoor environment by minimizing heat gain and protecting occupants from harmful solar rays. The photovoltaic glass also achieves a visible light transmission and g-value that surpass 10%, ensuring that the atrium remains well-lit without excessive solar heat entering the space. This installation perfectly blends modern technology with the architectural design, showcasing how advanced building materials can meet energy efficiency standards while maintaining aesthetic harmony.
