INCREASE
Effective advancements towards uptake of PV integrated in buildings & infrastructure.
Programme: HORIZON EUROPE. European Commission.
The main objective of the INCREASE project is to support and contribute to a wider uptake of integrated photovoltaics (IPV) in the European market by focusing on innovation and development at both module and system levels, as well as optimizing and improving the design & operation phase of IPV projects.
At module level, the following will be developed
- new encapsulants based on resins and additives to improve module lifetime and achieve fire retardant properties.
- innovative coatings to reduce the glare effect of glass as well as to improve anti-soiling and anti-fouling properties.
At system level, there are three main integrations where the design and structure will be analysed and improved:
- Modular prefabricated system for building envelopes (modular curtain wall) and for the integration of lightweight roof panel.
- Ventilated façade solutions more robust and improved to increase the safety of the installation.
- Photovoltaic noise barriers for railway applications.
All these developments and improvements will be validated in 9 demonstrations with diverse applications (urban furniture, multi-residential buildings, offices...) in 6 European countries. INCREASE will be implemented by a multidisciplinary team of 22 partners from 7 European countries involving industrial and research partners.
Currently, ongoing project.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe, Innovation Actions programme under grant agreement No 101136112.
