The installation of 301 m2 (3,239 sqft) is located in the CIF building, an industrial-type building with an office area that belongs to the multinational Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
It is composed of low transparency amorphous Silicon Photovoltaic Glass and a glass configuration of 6+3+6. In total, there are 110 rectangular-shaped units, which measures 1,849x1,245 mm (47 PV glass units) and 2,456x1,245 mm (63 PV glass units).
Each glass has a double argon chamber, providing excellent thermal and acoustic insulation and notably improving the comfort of people inside the building. This quality is quite important for a city with a tropical climate like Kancheepuram, where it frequently exceeds 40ºC (104ºF) during the summer.
Founded in 1938, Larsen & Toubro is an Indian multinational engaged in EPC Projects, Hi-Tech Manufacturing and Services. It operates in over 50 countries worldwide. A strong, customer-focused approach and the constant quest for top-class quality have enabled L&T to attain and sustain leadership in its major lines of business for over eight decades.
L&T is committed to fulfilling economic, environmental and social responsibilities while conducting business efficiently. Characterized by professionalism, high standards of corporate governance and sustainability, the company has developed a Green Products and Services Portfolio to deliver engineering and design solutions focused on sustainability and infrastructure with low environmental impact.
